into the bodies
where
the life loved
to be words

The shocking thing about some of the poems is that they really do resemble to the last fragments of Ezra Pound, when his shattered mind still produced lines of overwhelming beauty, but leaves you with a sadness, a feeling of loss. In its best moments, these Darwin Poems evoke this kind of feeling, too, but as there is now human counterpart, you can associate these lines with, the readers loneliness and desperation turns even worse.
