There's a built-in preference towards selection in the direction of brevity, namely us. A long text is more likely to be completely nonsensical, or to have a particular combination of words that is so violently ungrammatical as to throw support to the text's opponent. I'd say with this version it's most interesting just to let the situation play out and see what happens. It could be that, once a good set of 'genes' is established, the longer form will become more viable. If not, v2 can contain some mechanism to preserve text length, possibly by including one mutation which simply combines entire lines rather than fragments thereof.
