How about just remain consistent with the thread you're replying to (and if someone messes it up, reformat it to how the oldest quoted text was approached?

This, I would definitely agree with. Trouble is
that I feel I need to enforce line-breaks, as the
current system more or less assumes paragraphs of
no more than displayed line-length.
I think it's an issue to be looked at within the
BB script.
