Great project! I see I should not have posted this in the guest book, but here (oops). A suggestion, maybe for version 2: it would be nice to be able to browse the entire original population to see where we started, and then to browse the entire current population. (Maybe put them side by side on a page?) Maybe you could even devise some metric to figure out how long it takes for significant change (whatever that means) to accumulate in the population as a whole, and save the population at some appropriate intervals for future browsing. You'd end up with a sort of "movie" of population change over time. Looking forward to checking in again later!
