Rather than publish results, I will continue to add tools to let other people explore the database and find their own data.
re: species. Yes, when two parents of the same species mate, their offspring has a chance of adding another letter (randomly A or B). The idea is to create distinct species over time. Read the "how it works" section for more detail.

: a few days ago i came here through www.grouse.net.au (thanks!). as a phd student of biology i am very much interested in this experiment. may i ask what you (david) want to do with the results? do you plan to analyze and publish them scientifically? i see a lot of interesting aspects such as gene evolution, subspecies division and even human choice behaviour.
: off topic: i came across a poem of species AB today, with both parents being A. could this be a bug? sorry, i don't remember the number but i'll keep searching for another example.
