As a biologist I like the general idea about this.
But having played selection for hours, nothing really useful turned up and Vogon poetry was much better than that.
and worst of all I knew before that it would be a waste of time...I just wanted to see how the system would react...
Basic critique: evolution does not create sensible things out of nothing. one simply cannot generate poetry out of mere words, as one cannot - for the same reason - generate a brain that is fully functional out of single cells....
for poetry: it takes so many things...a rhyme, intonation, grammar(!) maybe you start a bit later say with complete lines form different poems to generate a verse ... or even a sonnett?
